What a charming little armadillo nodder this fellow is. Made of a fired ceramic material, his head and tail nod merrily to any random vibration he is subjected to.
He was molded in a form and topped with a tiny wire piece that would allow him to hang so I wouldn't be surprised if he was sold at a souvenir shop in Texas or Oklahoma, land of the armadillos, back in the 1940s. Whatever his original purpose was, he will be an interesting addition to a vintage collection of armadillos or nodders.
There is some minor paint loss on the sides but his ears, snout and tail are intact and retain their original paint.
